Phoebe is a theater maker, actress, and designer based in Western Massachusetts. She worked for 3 years as a performer and designer at Double Edge Theatre in Ashfield, MA, and has studied physical and vocal performance in theaters across Europe.

Performance Training

Double Edge Theatre

September 2021 - November 2023

I participated in 7 seasonal training intensives at Double Edge Theatre during my time there, as well as training and rehearsing for the performance Lightning (2021-2023).

Nordisk TeaterLaboratorium

July and December 2023

I participated in the Path of Actions, a physical theater intensive hosted by Vali Theater Lab, and the Dance of Intentions by Roberta Carreri at the historic Odin Teatret in Holstebro, Denmark.

Teatr Zar

July - August 2023

I participated in the ZAR Intense 2023, an exploration of physical improvisation and polyphonic singing traditions, at Studio Na Grobli in Wrocław, Poland.

Circomedia

September - December 2020

I trained in acrobatics and aerial arts at Circomedia, a center for contemporary circus and physical theater in Bristol, England.

Wisefool New Mexico

June - July 2019

As part of the Bust! Intensive 2019 at Wisefool, New Mexico, I trained in clown, aerial, and acrobatics, and choreographed an aerial circus act on silks.

Lightning, Co-creater and performer

Sep 2021 - Nov 2023

Phoebe co-created and performed in an original work of physical and visual theater directed by Jeremy Louise Eaton and produced at Double Edge Theatre 2021-2023. Lightning is a story of mystery, magic, and monstrosity, unspooling from the collective memory and imagination of its ensemble.

Vox Machinal, Lead Artist

February 2019

Phoebe reworked  Sophie Treadwell's 1928 play Machinal and co-directed a radio-play adaptation featuring strange sounds, dream-like dances, and giant puppets.

Faust Haus, Lead Artist

October 2018

For a second time, Phoebe produced Bard's annual haunted house, this time writing an adaptation of the play Dr. Faustus as a circus - puppet cabaret. She directed this 25 minute piece, and performed her own solo aerial dance piece as "Fallen Angel" within the narrative.

Cirkus Apokalypsis, Lead Artist

May 2019

Phoebe was the lead writer and director of Bard's annual circus apocalypse three years running. She also taught aerial choreography, made puppets, and performed in these surrealist spectacles.

Mad Hatter's Parade, Puppet-maker and performer

May 2019

Phoebe assisted in the organization of this parade as part of Processional Arts Workshop (PAW) and constructed a sub-parade of sleepwalking dormice.

Desire, Performer

April 2019

Phoebe performed in the dance-theatre production Desire by choreographer Jack Ferver at the Richard B. Fisher Center of the Performing Arts.

Requiem for Anna Politkovskaya, Puppeteer

May 2018

Phoebe worked as an assistant puppet maker to Amy Trompetter and puppeteer to her mainstage puppet pageant at the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.

Apocalypse Dreams, Lead Artist

May 2018

Phoebe co-wrote, directed, and performed the 16th annual circus apocalypse at Bard College. This was also her first solo venture into the world of puppet making and surrealist storytelling.

Grimm Haus, Lead Artist

October 2017

Phoebe produced a  theatrical interactive haunted house of Grimm's fairytales. Within this production, she directed and performed in a dramatic retelling of Little Red Cap through aerial dance and variety circus arts.
